Generation 4 · F-body · 1993–2002

Fourth Generation

LT1 then LS1 — Corvette power, a Quebec plant, and the end of the F-body.

An all-new body on a revised F-body, built entirely at Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec. The Z28 launched with the Corvette-derived LT1, later the aluminum LS1. “SS” returned as a dealer-delivered SLP-built package rather than a factory RPO.

The whole F-body — Camaro and Firebird — was cancelled in 2002 under an incoming federal head-impact standard, then revived seven years later.
