30th Anniversary — and 106 LT4 cars
The 30th Anniversary edition revives the 1969 pace-car look — and 106 rare LT4-powered SS cars slip out.
1997's 30th Anniversary edition wore Arctic White with Hugger Orange stripes and white leather (houndstooth cloth optional — a knowing nod to the 1969 pace car's interior). 4,533 were sold at a $575 premium, and 957 of them combined the anniversary package with the SLP-built SS.
The rarest wrinkle: SLP built 106 LT4-powered 30th Anniversary SS cars (100 US + 6 Canada) using the 330 hp LT4 — the same high-output small-block as the 1996 Corvette Grand Sport, and 25 hp over the standard LT1 SS. Those 106 are among the rarest, most valuable fourth-gen Camaros.
