Identify a Camaro

A car is what its records agree it is. Each tool below reads one record; the confidence comes from reading them against each other, not from any single decode. Nothing is uploaded — every tool runs entirely on your device.

VIN decoder 1967–2024

Identifies the vehicle. Classic 13-character and modern 17-character formats, each read against the era it belongs to — the layout changed in 1972, 1987, 1993 and 2010.

Cowl tag decoder 1967–1969

Describes how Fisher Body built the body: paint, interior trim, build date, plant, and the mid-1969 Norwood X-codes that map to drivetrain and trim families.

Engine & drivetrain 1967–1969

The three records behind a numbers-matching claim: the casting number for the block family, the stamped suffix for what it was assembled as, and the VIN derivative for which car it belongs to.

Paper records 1965–2016

Protect-O-Plate, build and broadcast sheets, and the SPID label — what each records, where it hides, and why loose paperwork corroborates rather than proves.

Decode, not certificate. Every tool here is an evidence-guided reading of a code. None of them establishes that a car is “authenticated”, “certified” or “matching numbers”. Tags and pads are reproduced and restamped; paperwork gets paired with the wrong car. For a factory record, use GM Heritage or a documented registry — and read the identification workflow before acting on anything a decode tells you.
