The SS 1LE gets the ten-speed
A light running-change year: new paint, standard wireless CarPlay, no anniversary edition.
Not much changed for 2021. Wild Cherry Tintcoat paint arrived in two design packages, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were included, and the SS 1LE could now be ordered with the ten-speed automatic.
The engines carried over: 275 hp turbo four, 335 hp V6, 455 hp LT1 and SS, 650 hp ZL1. No anniversary edition was offered. Every car was still built at Lansing, Michigan, and US sales for the year were 21,893.

The fabric names and model groupings follow Chevrolet's 2021 US brochure model pages; upholstery ordering codes remain unknown. LT1's cloth choices stay separate from the 2LT/3LT and 2SS leather-appointed choices. Accent interiors require their named packages on 2LT, 3LT and 2SS. The Adrenaline Red Interior Package is not available with Crush, Shock or Riverside Blue Metallic. The non-Red RECARO entry and ZL1's Red-accent seating are separate. A quiet year for the car and a hard one for the factory: a chip shortage kept Lansing idle for weeks.
The new color story for 2021 was Wild Cherry Tintcoat, sold through two design packages that both required the RS package. Package 1, offered on the LT, LT1 and SS, added Black Metallic hash-mark stripes, a Camaro fender badge on LT and SS, wheel center caps with the Camaro logo, 20-inch five-split-spoke polished forged wheels and premium floor mats. Package 2, for the 2LT, 3LT and 2SS, went further. It added black sueded knee pads, a black fuel-filler door with a visible carbon-fiber insert, Carbon Flash Metallic ground effects and a black or silver center stripe.
Chevrolet called it "the big news for 2021": the ten-speed paddle-shift automatic could now be ordered on the SS 1LE, which had been manual-only; the ZL1 1LE had offered it since 2019. The 1LE family otherwise carried over. The Turbo 1LE had FE3 suspension parts, heavy-duty cooling, four-piston Brembo front calipers, black forged 20-inch wheels on summer tires, a rear blade spoiler, a fuel system built for higher cornering loads and a Track mode. The V6 1LE added a dual-mode exhaust and an estimated 0.97 g of grip. The 455-hp SS 1LE used the FE4 chassis with Magnetic Ride Control and six-piston Brembos. The ZL1 1LE, "the most extreme production Camaro ever," kept its adjustable Multimatic DSSV dampers, adjustable rear stabilizer bar, fixed carbon-fiber wing and dive planes.
The LT1, in its second year, could now be ordered with the RS package or as a Redline Edition. The Redline Edition, offered only in Summit White, Satin Steel Metallic or Black with a Jet Black interior, brought black 20-inch wheels with red accents, a black fender badge outlined in red, Redline graphics, red seat belts, red knee pads and premium mats.
Inside, the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system could stream from two Bluetooth devices at once. Buyers could choose heated and ventilated front seats, or Recaro performance seats with sueded microfiber inserts. The available Performance Data Recorder logged lap times and video of a drive.
