2020 Camaro

A cheaper V8, and a COVID-hit year

The new LT1 trim puts the SS's V8 in a cheaper body — as the pandemic cuts sales roughly in half.

2020 added the long-requested LT1 trim (coupe and convertible): the SS's 6.2 L LT1 V8 dropped into the cheaper LT body and appearance package, starting at $34,995 — V8 power without the SS's specific trim. The SS also got a front-end redesign borrowing cues from the 2018 “Camaro Shock” concept, the V6 LT gained a 10-speed automatic, and the 3LT's turbo-four became standard.

COVID-19 hit 2020 Camaro sales hard — first-half sales were reported down about 50% year-over-year, part of the industry-wide pandemic shock.
