The Z/28 returns — power isn't the point
A naturally aspirated 505 hp LS7 track car that out-laps the more powerful ZL1.
The 2014 Z/28 used the Corvette Z06's naturally aspirated 7.0 L LS7 (505 hp) rather than a blower — deliberately. Where the ZL1 chased supercharged all-weather speed, the Z/28 went back to first principles: aggressive weight-stripping, Multimatic DSSV dampers, carbon-ceramic brakes, hardware chosen for lap times. In testing it lapped several seconds faster than the more powerful ZL1.
