IROC-Z remains the sole performance top-trim, and 1LE track-package orders climb.
With the standalone “Z28” name paused for 1988–90, the IROC-Z was the visible top performance trim. 1989 saw 111 examples of the near-secret 1LE track package — the stripped brake/suspension/cooling bundle you could only trigger by combining a hardtop IROC-Z with the G92 axle, G80 limited-slip and, the essential catch, C41 air-conditioning delete. 110,739 Camaros were built.
