Larry Shinoda

Designer — the ZL2 cowl-induction hood

The single cleanest thread tying CamaroFacts, VetteFacts and MustangFacts together in one person. Under Bill Mitchell in GM's “Studio X,” Shinoda was central to the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray and the Mako Shark. He designed the Camaro's ZL2 cowl-induction “Super Scoop” hood.

He then followed Bunkie Knudsen to Ford, where his first project was the Boss 302 Mustang — he stripped its chrome and reportedly named it “Boss” as a nod to Knudsen. He's in both the Corvette and Mustang Halls of Fame.
